应哈工大航天学院孙毅教授邀请,国际固体力学领域著名学者,英国皇家工程院院士、帝国理工学院Esteban Pedro Busso教授对哈尔滨工业大学进行访问并开展合作研究工作。并于2019611日举行学术讲座,欢迎全校感兴趣的师生参加。

讲座内容简介

        The pressure to increase the structural integrity of aircraft structures is closely linked to the long-term behavior of inherent defects present in the material of structural components.  Predicting precisely where cracks will both develop and propagate in a material under stress and exactly when catastrophic fracture of the component will occur is at the center of the structural reliability of large-scale engineering structures. Where human life depends upon engineering ingenuity, the burden of testing to prove a 'fracture safe design' is huge. Fitness considerations for long-life implementation of aircraft structures include understanding phenomena such as impact, fatigue, creep and stress corrosion cracking that affect reliability, life expectancy and durability of the structure. Structural integrity analysis treats the design, the materials used, and determines how best components and parts can be assembled together, and takes service conditions into account. Along with these requirements, it is highly desirable to minimize the weight of components since reductions in weight are amplified throughout the entire structure of an aircraft.  However, there are conflicting aims in the complete design process of designing simultaneously for high efficiency and safety assurance throughout an economically viable lifetime with an acceptable level of risk.

    In this lecture, the evolution of civil aircraft fatigue requirements and the milestones that have defined it will be discussed first. Then, the engineering and scientific practices and challenges inherent in the ongoing effort to develop robust and reliable structural integrity procedures will be addressed. This will include the main bases of engineering and state-of-the-art physics-based approaches to study the reliability of metallic aircraft structures under fatigue loading.

报告人简介:

        Esteban Pedro Busso 教授,男,19576月出生。1980年获阿根廷科尔多瓦国立大学学士学位。1987年和1990年先后获得美国麻省理工学院硕士和博士学位。1990-1991年于日立机械有限公司工作。1992-1994WS阿特金斯科技任职高级科学家。1995-2005于英国帝国理工学院任职教授。2005-2013于法国巴黎高等矿业学院任教授和材料力学行为研究中心主任。2013-2018任法国国家宇航中心材料与结构部科学研究主任。2018-至今于英国英国帝国理工学院任教授。

        Busso教授撰写并编辑了12本科学书籍,发表了135篇经过同行评议的文章(指数为32,在Google学术搜索引用3342)。他还在固体力学领域组织或共同举办13次国际会议和16次以上的国际研讨会,其主要奖项和荣誉包括:英国皇家工程学院院士,英国材料、矿物和采矿研究所Fellow,英国特许工程师、皇家学会航天委员会成员、法国国家宇航中心材料与结构部科学研究主任、美国能源部欧盟委员会、欧洲研究委员会以及英国、荷兰和法国研究委员会的全球行业顾问;他目前是Philosophical Magazine期刊副主编,并曾担任ASME Eng. Materials and Tech., Int. Journal of Plasticity期刊副主编和编委会成员。
