气候变化是21世纪人类面临的最大挑战之一。对全球变暖和能源危机的日益认识推动了全球脱碳技术的研究和创新,这些技术有可能彻底改变我们的能源生产和消费方式。

本次讲座中,将介绍电力电子在能源系统脱碳中发挥的关键作用,以及这项技术如何将能源网从依赖化石燃料的能源发电转变为可再生能源。针对能源转型带来的挑战以及越来越多的 “无自旋”电力电子设备而电网惯性降低的问题,阐述新型电网的解决方案及几种新兴的基于电力电子的解决方案,以解决不断减少的电网惯性问题。最后,将概述潜在的研究方向和技术途径,以实现未来更清洁、更有弹性的无旋转能源网。

新加坡在新能源的开发与利用方面的研究位列世界前列,新加坡南洋理工大学(Nanyang Technology University, NTU)大学为亚洲知名学府,其电气工程(Electrical and Electronic Engineering,EEE)学科一直处于世界领先的地位。Power electronics and its applications in smart grid研究所专注于新能源的并网控制与应用的研究,取得了很多有意的进展。

受哈工大“世界顶尖大学战略合作计划-人文交流项目”资助,电气学院郑雪梅教授,邀请新加坡南洋理工大学的Prof. Yi Tang于2024年6月12日走进电气学院,进行学术讲座与交流,具体安排如下:

内容简介: Climate change presents one of the greatest challenges of the 21st century for humanity. The growing awareness of global warming and the energy crisis has propelled worldwide research and innovation in decarbonization technologies that have the potential to revolutionize the way we produce and consume energy. In this talk, I will introduce the pivotal role that power electronics play in decarbonizing energy systems and how this technology transforms energy grids from relying on fossil fuel-based energy generation to renewable sources. I will highlight the challenges arising from this energy transition, particularly the reduced grid inertia due to the increasing use of "spin-free" power electronic devices. Furthermore, I will review several real-world large-scale blackout events associated with low inertia energy grids. Then, I will present several emerging power electronics-based solutions to the ever-decreasing grid inertia issue. The presentation will conclude with an outline of potential research directions and technological pathways toward achieving future cleaner and more resilient energy grids without the spin.

专家简介:

Yi Tang received the B.Eng. degree in electrical engineering from Wuhan University, Wuhan, China, in 2007, and the M.Sc. degree and Ph.D. degree in power engineering from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in 2008 and 2011, respectively.

From 2011 to 2013, he was a Senior Application Engineer with Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific, Singapore. From 2013 to 2015, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with Aalborg University, Aalborg, Denmark. Since March 2015, he has been with Nanyang Technological University, where he is currently an Associate Professor. His research interests include power electronics and its applications in smart grid and e-mobility systems.

Dr. Tang was the recipient of the Infineon Top Inventor Award in 2012, the Early Career Teaching Excellence Award in 2017, and multiple IEEE Prize Paper Awards. He serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics (TPEL) and IEEE Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Power Electronics (JESTPE).
