讲座内容概况：An appointment as an Honorary Professor at Harbin Institute of Technology provides an opportunity to examine my research conducted in Materials Science and Engineering over the last 50 years. This research started with an examination of creep mechanisms, spread to evaluating superplasticity and finally was devoted to the processing of ultrafine-grained materials using severe plastic deformation. This presentation provides a brief overview of some of the highlights of this research.
主讲人简介： Terence G. Langdon教授是国际材料领域的著名学者，他是英国南安普顿大学和美国南加大材料科学教授，是英国皇家工程院院士、欧洲科学院院士和俄罗斯科学院外籍院士，先后获得超过30项的国际学术荣誉和奖项，包括美国金属学会(ASM)的Albest Sauveur成就奖、欧洲科学院的Blaise Pascal奖，Acta Materialia金奖、俄罗斯科学院荣誉博士、中国科学院李熏奖等。Langdon教授至今已发表了超过1000余篇SCI论文，论文引用数近70000次，H因子125。
Terence G. Langdon is a Professor of Materials Science at the University of Southampton, U.K., and Professor of Engineering Emeritus at the University of Southern California, U.S.A. He is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, a Fellow of the European Academy of Sciences, a Member of Academia Europaea and a Foreign Member of the Academy of Sciences of the Bashkortostan Republic, Russia. His awards include the Blaise Pascal Medal of the European Academy of Sciences, the Lee Hsun Award of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Honorary Medal “De Scientia et Humanitate Optime Meritis” of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, the Sōmiya Award of the International Union of Materials Research Societies and the Acta Materialia Gold Medal. He received a D.Sc. in Physics from the University of Bristol, the degree of Doctor honoris causa from the Russian Academy of Sciences and the degree of D.Sc. (Honoris Causa) from Peter the Great Saint Petersburg Polytechnic University. He has published more than 1000 papers in peer-reviewed journals, his papers have received over 70,000 citations on Google Scholar and he has an h-index of 128.
